Summer Camp Options
Summer camp is probably the most fun a scout can have! It is constant activity options and advancement options. There is something for everyone!
We will be attending Camp Wanocksett
in Jaffrey NH from July 28-August 3, 2013 (Sunday - Saturday).
Early Bird Rate: $355 (due by May 21, so we can submit before May 24)
After Early Bird: $375 (after May 24)
IMPORTANT: Camp Wanocksett Medical Form, with Instructions.
Be sure to read the instructions! We recommend you fill this out electronically, since you may make a mistake.
Scouts and Adults need an appointment with your doctor to fill this out!
Medical Forms are due June 4, so we can verify the forms are correct.
Want more camp? For additional weeks, scouts can attend "Provo" which will put the scout in a group of other Provisional scouts.
See the Camp Wanocksett Web site for more information!
Lot's of useful information is available in the Camp Wanocksett Leader's Guide
Treasure Valley Scout Reservation (TVSR) is our "home" scout camp,
owned by the Mohegan Council. Mr. McLaughlin has offered to
take any interested scouts during Week 2 (July 14-20). Early Bird rate is $368 due by May 15 at the Council office (after that, $420). (Webelos and new scouts get more time on early bird rate.)
More information, including sibling discounts are at the above web site.
Please let Mr. McLaughlin know if you would like to attend TVSR Week 2!
Want more camp? Scouts can attend Provisional Week at TVSR July 28 to August 3, or can attend "day provisional"
(days only) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm during other TVSR weeks.
Congratulations to our newest Eagle Scout, Ben Heney, for obtaining scouting's highest rank!
Troop 180 attended the 2013 Isaac Davis Camporee. We camped in the field, woke early,
and marched with the reenactors who fired muskets as we marched from Acton to Concord.
We watched the reenactors as they recreated the "Shot heard round the World" at the North Bridge in Concord.
Nick received help from the Troop and friends to build picnic tables and cleanup the playground at the Church.
